Neenie and I love to check out the new fall TV. I think we are fans of TV for convenience sake. We're usually so dead-dog tired after working a 10 or 12 that we find it mildly entertaining. For you other TV buffs here are the latest rating of the new year. Seems that Studio 60 is falling fast ... which is too bad, since I like the fast paced banter. Even though this last episode was pretty slow of content and a few scenes were just poor acting. I think it will get better and catch on ... there seems to be another "SNL' like show coming up with 30 Rock ... Tina Fey is in this one ... she is funny.
CSI miami is still a top the leader board. Since the World Series has knocked 'House' off until the end of the month ... there won't be anything there to watch. Grey's, Housewifes and CSI seem to be the shows to beat this season. I never watched an episode of Housewifes last season and this season ... I'm hooked. I really can't tell you why.
Discovery channel still rocks for me. It never lets me down.
In other news, I dabbled in church stuff in yesterday's blog and followed up a comment I made on Tim's site that I made. Seems Tim got a warning from another youth minister to be careful about talking about 'ineffective preaching'. I have to say that ... preaching is not wrong or profitable ... it's just not effective to today's society. I know some would say, forget society in what they need ... let's keep doing it the way we've always done it because scripture says that "it is by the foolishness of preaching that men are saved". But some have thrown out so many other good scriptures in order to make church comfortable ... why proof text this? I know I'm sticking my greasy little hand in the cookie jar ... but students as well as congregations need more than a pulpit to pew relationship in order for God's word to stick in their lives.
I guess that's the reason I like the Christian Biker community ... they say what they mean and mean what they say. It's usually harsh and raw ... but it comes from the heart with passion and it doesn't take 45 minutes at 11 AM on Sunday to tell you. It happens 'in' life ... not around it.
It time for another round of joe for the morning ... hey thanks for reading my blog
keep it upright
