motorcycle trip aid

I can remember the first and only time that I began to run out of gas on the Valk. It was 9 p.m. on a FM road, no street lights, and cold. The dealer had told me that I could get 180 miles out of the tank and I was on 150 and she started to sputter. I finally found the petcock and began turning it .. until I found reserve fuel. Ahhh ... thank you, reserve fuel. The truth of it is ... I better start looking for a gas station at 140. I just found this great piece of news from AAA ... you know the travel/towing people. They have always had great trip services ... but they have out done themselves now. If you are a member ... you can go to their "Trip Tik" ... plug in your destination, choose gas stations, all the stations pop up on the map ... then roll over them with your mouse ... and they give you the PRICES of the gas at that location. Shhhhaaazam. Now is that cool or what? Create a printable map ... put it on your tank bag ... and viola you are now an informed motorcycle dude or dudette saving some pennies on your next adventure. I love it. Above is the freebie map from AAA ... I'm not a member yet ... but will be soon. This service just started YESTERDAY from AAA. Here's the source.

AAA is awesome! You can also get discounts at hotels and restaraunts around the country. We've been members for 3 years and love it. One tow trip or one unlock of the doors pays for it! With two kids you can't ever be too careful. If you visit one of their locations and order a trip tik, they give you maps and destination guides and a whole bag of info that is great for any trip!

Gotta love it!
